SARAHJAY is a ribbed hat that knits up quickly with chunky yarn and utilizes two needle sizes to ensure a great cozy fit. It is a hat that "gets you". Haha.

I've been in a fog for, well, months really. Even the holidays went by fairly unceremoniously due to sickness of one family member or another. 

Now it's time to get healthy, get out of the funk, and be productive!

JOY shawlette

Hi friends!

Raise your hand if you've experienced love at first sight...with a skein of yarn. That eye candy yarn that you just HAD to have. Then keep your hand up if that skein of yarn is still languishing away in a box in the closet or on the shelf. Poor yarn!
I had a couple of these types of skeins and so I wrote a pattern for them, and I'd like to share that with you! Here's JOY:

 

JOY is a worsted-weight shawlette with plenty of visual interest that's also fun to knit.

The increases yield an elongated, wearable shape.

 

The pink yarn is deliciously soft Mad Tosh Merino in colorway "Pop Rocks".

This beautiful blue yarn is Tosh Vintage colorway "Cobalt".

In Threes

In remembrance of the day, I choose to give thanks.

Three things I'm grateful for today:

The loves of my life, Daniel, Noelle and Ellie.
The unconditional love of my family members.
It is palpable and gives me comfort on the hardest of days.
The love of God and the clear signs of His mercy and grace in the daily struggle.

Good things come in threes...

Speaking of which...

"In Threes" is one of the most popular patterns on Ravelry, and after knitting it I can see why.
 Truly seamless and knits up quickly in worsted weight yarn.

Do your eyes deceive you? Nope! It is baby pink acrylic. But this is Brava Worsted by knitpicks. If you're going to knit with acrylic I recommend this. It glides off the needles and is soft but not too soft. No splitting issues and great stitch definition.

This sweater was meant for my friend's 1 year old, but after knitting it

I realized it not only fit my little kid but my big kid too! Oops!

 Ellie had fun, and loves her new sweater.

New Pattern: Vineyard

Good evening, all!

I'm happy to share my new pattern with you: Vineyard.
The cabley goodness was inspired by the connectivity and life within vines.

Sample yarn: Universal Yarns Deluxe Worsted
Colorway: Ice Flow
(leftover from my Antrorse pullover)

 

The unique cables are surprisingly easy to work, with only a few repeats.

MARTHA COWL

Introducing my very first pattern...the Martha Cowl!

Inspired and knit in delicious Malabrigo Rasta yarn. To celebrate this momentous occasion I'm offering it up free of charge!

Just pop on over to Ravelry and pick on up.  

This is a super satisfying one-skein project that uses every bit of yarn.
Malabrigo Rasta has a universal appeal and there are so many lovely colors to choose from.

Because of the design many yarns can easily be substituted.

By the way, this is Martha! This was a totally impromptu photo shoot and we had super lots of fun.

Just in time for Summer! bahaha. It's winter somewhere!

Sagaponack Tee

Oh what's this folks? Just in the nick of time, my TTTKAL project (with extension of course). 

This is my new spring sweater: Sagaponack Tee, a free pattern offered on the Takhi Yarns website

 It's a simple, top down garter yoke short sleeve summer tee.

 Knitting in Misti Alpaca cotton silk created a soft, drapey fabric. 

The garter yoke goes all around.

 

I'm very very pleased and would highly recommend this pattern to anyone. Yay!

Knitting JOURNEY: Antrorse

Like my new sweater? I obviously do!

 

The pattern is Antrorse and is part of the JOURNEY collection/collaboration.

The pattern is by Shannon Cook.
Like all of Shannon's patterns, the instructions are clear and incorporates classic sensibility with modern twists. I highly recommend this pattern!

I finished this a while ago, but it took me a while to photograph it. Mostly because it's been beastly hot and today was the first day I could stand to wear the sweater for more than five minutes.

This pattern is truly addictive..."Just one more pattern repeat" is what you'll find yourself muttering!

Knitting JOURNEY: Spate Mitts

After casting off my Onward shawl I had a skein and a half of Spud & Chloe sweater taking up space in my stashbox.
During a chatty-chat with dear pal Becca of Nook I had a "duh" moment when discussing the Spate mitts. why not use the leftover yarn from my Onward shawl? Spud & Chloe "Sweater" yarn is easy to knit, looks great and I know from how much I wear my shawl it's an easy color to wear too.
That conversation happened goodness knows how long ago but I finally made them! Right before the weather turns ridiculous here.
