FO Wednesday...happy Hiney

Finished Hine for my favorite little monster:

This is the second sweater I completed for the Summer Sweater KAL hosted by luvinthemommyhood. The Vintage by Berocco yarn was soft to begin with, but after blocking is super squishy. 

Noelle loves it, can you tell?

I knit a size 5 but the yarn grew when blocked so it turned out more tunic-y, which Noelle prefers anyway.

I love the lace pattern...just enough fuss for this little gal. 

Mini-me chose the buttons from my stash.

 Of course, the little one had to barge in and join the party...

 Not that anyone minded.

I should call this "wtf wednesday" instead of "WIP Wednesday"...as in I can't believe a week has already passed! Noelle's being in school definitely contributed to the days flying by. She is so excited to be in school and is loving her new friends and teachers.

This is Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock in Mist colorway.

This poor skein has been through a lot because of my indecisiveness, but as you can see from the bunch of squooshy garter fabric it has finally found its match!

WIP Wednesday - roadblock

Knitting goal for the week reached: 1st half of lace pattern. 

Except...when I tried it on using my nifty Knitpicks cable connectors...

alas, I discovered the fit was way off.

The neckline is so loose that unless I pose like this the sweater almost drops off my shoulders entirely. It's baggy, but not in a flattering way. Hats off to all you gauge gurus out there...apparently being off by 1/2 a stitch makes a huge difference. Sigh. 

I feel like if I knit with a smaller needle it would make the resulting fabric too dense and heavy for this particular pattern. I think I have to declare "mismatch" and rip back. Double sigh.

Aren't the colors just awesome? They really make me smile every time i look at this sock.

That's the beauty of having multiple projects OTN! I'm slo loving all the projects that I'm seeing so far in this KAL. Lots of awesome FO's that are being queued on the daily! Fun fun fun!
